One of our newly arrived wines has been nominated best single varietal wine under £10 by the Decanter World Wine Awards, during which over 10,000 wines of every region, style and price range are being tasted and judged.

The "Spinyback" wine owes its name to a native New Zealand reptile, which is the homeland of Waimea estates, the producer of the wine. A part of the earnings goes to a wildlife trust dedicated to the protection of this rare species.

The Spinyback Pinot gris shows honey, flowers and gentle spiciness with a whisper of toasty elements. Attractive weight and perfume on the palate, guava fruit, a pronounced intensity and a very long finish in perfect balance. A superb wine.
